A little about me...

Hi! I'm Josh, a UX Designer II at PlayStation based in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Before I landed at PlayStation, I was the Design Lead for Internet Brands' Health Vertical, creating elegant yet functional experiences for amazing companies like WebMD and Demandforce.

Growing up, I always loved connecting with new people, traveling the world, and making people smile. Thus, I naturally leaned towards the interdisciplinary sciences and health field. I shadowed two dentists, clocked in 600+ hours at John Muir Medical Center as the Student Volunteer Supervisor, and was a Medical-Surgical & ICU intern at Sutter Davis Hospital. This all changed when I came across an article on Flipboard about “usability” and “empathy” in the production of user-centered apps.

My passion for Cognitive Science met my zeal for Product Design, leading me to devour everything related to Product (UI/UX) Design and eventually develop my own eye for design through projects and learnings. All my hard work came to fruition when I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cognitive Science with emphases in Neuroscience and Design (HCI) and a minor in Psychology! My unique background in Cognitive Science and UX coupled with my keen understanding of users and empathy-driven approach allow me to solve problems and design solutions in a holistic way.

Oftentimes, the best ideas are a culmination of many voices. Taking the time to listen and hear other people's thoughts and ideas prove to be important parts when creating thorough and holistic products.

My perseverance and my growth mindset are the keys to my success not only in the design process, but also in life. Just like Steph Curry said, "If you don't fall, how are you going to know what getting up is like?"
